Georgi Sareski, composer and guitarist
Born in Skopje, Macedonia in February, 1983
Georgi Sareski is a composer, arranger and guitarist of contemporary music. He creates and performs new and fresh music based on sincere emotions, constantly promotes his music around the world, and collaborates with outstanding musicians from everywhere. Even though his professional career is only a couple of years old, he manages to gain more and more recognition from the ever growing world of contemporary music.The critics have always given excellent reviews for his albums and performances. They have described his music as emotional, honest, and sublime, filled with sophistication and often with a great sense of humor. |
Georgi Sareski graduated from Berklee College of Music as a scholarship student in 2005. He majored in Jazz Composition, thus he had the opportunity to study from some of the most amazing composers/professors in the world. In 2004 he won the Berklee Achievement Scholarship Award, and in 2005 he won the 1st prize IAJE (International Association of Jazz Educators) award for his composition Memories, on the Massachusetts state competition. He also studied guitar with some of today’s most respected and influential educators such as David Tronzo.
Since 2005 he has released three albums of original music.
- Elflandia (2005, Chicken Madness), with his international ensemble, recorded in Boston, MA.
- SoHoHo (2006, Chicken Madness), with his sextet featuring Francesco Bearzatti.
- Myau Myau (2007, Skopje Jazz Festival), with his Quartet featuring a guest appearance by Justin Keller.
- Amam (2009, Enrico Blumer Records), Skopje Connection with Dzijan Emina and Luca Aquino.
At the moment Georgi resides in Skopje, Macedonia, from where he is active world-wide. |

"The Drops" trio include Juan Suarez from
Argentina on the trumpet, Carlo Costa from Italy on
Drums, and Georgi Sareski on Guitar.
The program includes improvisational music and original
compositions.

Suite and other compositions by Sareski, will be performed
by Rick Stone, Justin Keller, Uri Gurvich, Michel Reis,

The Instrumentation will vary from compositions for a
Saxophone quartet, small band Sextet, Septet and Octet. |

Georgi Sareski's piece for Big
Band "Impressions of Impressions" will be
played at the Berklee College of Music at recital hall
1A at 7pm.
This piece is based on the modal composition "Impressions"
by John Coltrane. It will be played as a part of his
Jazz Composition portfolio. |

Georgi Sareski is recording his
extended Mourning Suite at Waltz Audio Studios in Boston
MA.
The project includes Uri Gurvich - Soprano Sax, Rick Stone
- Alto Sax, Justin Keller - Tenor Sax, Roy Assaf
- Piano, Cristiano Da Ros - Upright Bass, Kota Nakamura
- Drums, and Georgi Sareski - Guitar.
This 4-part suite is Sareski's latest composition, and

The Georgi Sareski Quartet is comprised of four of the leading contemporary musicians from Macedonia. They deliver original music and electrifying performance which effortlessly goes beyond any known category of jazz. Excellent musicianship, fresh sound, and extraordinary compositions are the main characteristics of this quartet. Their music is sometimes described as extremely emotional and heartwarming, and other times as witty cartoon music, humorous and unexpected. Since 2006, this quartet has become one of the most exported Macedonian groups, and always received excellent reviews for their performances. |
Georgi Sareski, the leader and guitarist of the group, studied jazz composition at Berklee College of Music in Boston, Massachusetts, from 2001 - 2005, where he started to develop a very personal approach to composing and improvising. During his studies, Georgi received several international awards for his music, including a first prize composition award at the IAJE of Massachusetts in 2005, and the Berklee Achievement Scholarship award in 2004. After the release of his large ensemble album "Elflandia" in 2005, Georgi began a collaboration with saxophonist Francesco Bearzatti, with whom he recorded his second album "SoHoHo" in 2006. In 2007, Skopje Jazz Festival Records released "Myau Myau", the first album of the Georgi Sareski Quartet, which also included saxophonist Justin Keller as a guest performer. The following year, Georgi began working with the Italian producer and manager, Enrico Blumer, who produced the Skopje Connection - a trio featuring Dzijan Emin on French horn, Luca Aquino on trumpet and Georgi Sareski on acoustic guitar. The album, Skopje Connection - Amam, was released last year by Enrico Blumer Productions, and the trio opened last year's Skopje Jazz Festival.
Georgi has also composed and performed music for documentaries, short films and animations.
Although not easy to categorize, Georgi Sareski's music is a most sincere statement, extremely personal and intimate yet easy to identify with.
